Eighty broadcaster representatives took part in a preparatory meeting in the build-up to the Munich 2022 European Championships.

Broadcasters based in Britain, Norway, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Slovakia, Belgium, Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Hungary and Slovenia attended the meeting, either in-person or virtually.

The Munich 2022 Organising Committee presented their plans for more than 400 hours of live production across the nine participating sports.

Organisers presented their sustainability plans, which included use of the Olympiapark, a key part of the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, as the main venue for the 2022 European Championships.

Executive producer of the Organising Committee for Munich 2022 Benedikt Happe said: "It was our intention to present the World Broadcaster Meeting in Munich 2022 in a different way.

"We wanted not only to showcase our comprehensive host broadcasting concept, but also provide a feeling what the event will be about - high-end, innovative, spectacular and entertaining.

The Munich 2022 European Championships are scheduled to take place from August 11 to 21 2022.

Nine sports are on the programme - athletics, cycling, sport climbing, beach volleyball, gymnastics, table tennis, canoe sprint, rowing and triathlon.

The first edition of the European Championships took place in 2018 in Berlin, Germany and Glasgow, Scotland, with athletics, aquatics, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon contested on this occasion.

Russia topped the overall medal table, winning a total of 66 medals, consisting of 31 golds, 19 silvers and 16 bronzes.
