Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina and Britain's Alfie Hewett - the two top-ranked players in the draw - won their semi-finals at the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters to set up a tantalising final.

Fernandez beat Hewett's compatriot and doubles team-mate Gordon Reid in three sets, thrashing through a dominant third set to win 7-6, 4-6, 6-0.

Hewett, meanwhile, dispatched France's Stephane Houdet in more consummate fashion, dropping just two games on his way to a 6-2, 6-0 victory.

The women's singles featured two fascinating semi-finals with an all-Netherlands and all-Japan clash.

In the Dutch head-to-head, Diede de Groot, who entered the competition as the number one seed and won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, got the better of Aniek van Koot 6-4, 6-3 to claim her place in the final, while in the all-Japan contest, it was second seed Yui Kamiji who got the better of her compatriot Momoko Ohtani, winning 6-4, 6-0.

The Netherlands' pair then returned for the women's doubles final, which Ohtani also contested, this time alongside China's Zhenzhen Zhu.

The Dutch women got the better of the tussle, claiming the NEC Masters title with a 6-3, 6-3 win.

The Netherlands' Neils Vink will face compatriot Sam Schroder in the quads singles finals after straight-sets wins over the United States' David Wagner and Britain's Andy Lapthorne respectively.

In the quads doubles final, Tokyo 2020 gold medallists Vink and Schroder then teamed up to claim victory over Wagner and Nicholas Taylor of the US.

Finally, Hewett and Reid, ranked number one entering the competition, claimed the men's doubles titles, avenging their Tokyo 2020 final defeat to France's Houdet and Nicholas Peifer in straight sets.
