Scotland and the United States are two of four teams who sit top of the standings at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship at the Ice Cube in Beijing after they both won twice on the third day of competition.

Hugh Nibloe's Scotland first won 7-4, having used the hammer well to sink Mark Ideson's Canada.

In the evening session, they won again, this time against Eric Decorvet's Switzerland 11-7.

Meanwhile, Matthew Thums' US started with a solid 8-2 victory over Jang Jae-hyuk's South Korea, having stolen for three ends in a row for seven points.

The second came against Angela Menardi's Italy, having won with a score in the final end, beating them 7-6.

They are joined at the top by hosts Wang Haitao's China and Konstantin Kurokhtin's Russian Curling Federation (RCF) who were both victorious twice.

China first smashed South Korea 9-2, followed by a 7-3 victory over Polina Rozkhova's Latvia.

RCF handed Viljo Petersson-Dahl's Sweden its second defeat of the competition in the afternoon session, beating them 8-2 thanks to a score of two in the seventh followed by a massive steal of four in the final end.

They followed it up with an emphatic 14-5 win against Radoslav Duris' Slovakia.

Slovakia did record their first victory of the Championship, beating Switzerland 12-1 earlier in the day.

Having topped the standings yesterday, Sweden lost twice today - with the other defeat being against Canada, the score ending 5-4.

Latvia maintained their hopes of making the playoffs with a 6-3 win over Jostein Stordahl's Norway.

Stordahl's side got a second victory of the tournament by beating Italy 11-4.

Only Switzerland have yet to record a victory at the Championship.
