Thailand's first-ever Paralympic taekwondo medallist, Khwansuda Phuangkitcha, has received gifts from South Korean Ambassador Lee Wook-heon to mark the achievement.

Phuangkitcha was given flowers, shoes for training and a hanbok - a traditional Korean dress - by Lee.

Shin Young-kyun, who coaches Thailand's national Para taekwondo team, was also honoured.

The ceremony was combined with the opening of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand's "Online K-Pop Academy".

Taekwondo made its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020.

Seventeen different nations won medals and Phuangkitcha earned a bronze in the women's under-49-kilomgram K44 event.

The 21-year-old is also the reigning world champion in the discipline.

Thailand also won won medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games - gold, via Panipak Wongpattanakit in the women's under-49kg.
