The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) has hosted its second NOC social media webinar as part of its Digital Accelerator Programme.

The aim of the workshops is to equip NOCs with the knowledge and tools to improve their performance on social media.

More than 240 people registered to attend the webinar which featured guest speakers from the NOC of Guatemala.

Despite having a small team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games compared to some of the other nations, ANOC praised the NOC for punching above its weight when it came to social media figures.

ANOC said the team delivered content in a unique and engaging way that saw them finish 19th on the ANOC Social Media Dashboard in terms of new followers and 12th in terms of video views for August.

Key topics including the importance of developing a social media strategy and content plan, how to track and measure social media progress, best practice in developing a content strategy and how to resource a social media team were all covered.
