The deal with teh governing body for university sport in Canada will run until the conclusion of competition in 2025.

All National Championships are to be covered under the deal, and fans will be able to watch digitally on CBC Sports' website, its free streaming service CBC Gem and on the broadcaster's apps.

The channel will also be the English-language television host of the Vanier Cup - Canadian football's university final - at Université Laval’s TELUS-UL Stadium on December 4.

"Today, is the first step towards reshaping coverage of university sport in Canada," said U SPORTS director of marketing and communications John Bower. 

"CBC Sports is Canada’s Olympic Network and has an impressive repertoire of high-performance sport coverage on its digital platforms. 

"U SPORTS look forward to growing our audience with CBC so that the performances and stories of our student-athletes reach the widest possible audience."

The broadcaster returned as an official U SPORTS partner during the 2019-2020 season, and is now increasing its coverage from six National Championships two years ago to all 19 this year.

"These U SPORTS championship events offer the opportunity for audiences to see some of the top high-performance athletes in the country in action on a national stage," said Chris Wilson, executive director of sports and the Olympics at CBC.

"We’re proud to further enhance our commitment to gender-balanced sports coverage with this equal slate of men’s and women’s championship events, and we look forward to sharing the athletes' stories across our digital platforms over the next four years."

The first National Championships of the 2021-2022 season are set to take place from November 10 and 11, starting with women's rugby and women's field hockey.
