Shauna Bannon looks determined to avenge her loss in the bantamweight final at the 2019  World Championships as she defeated Norway's Maria Kaald Andresen.

The Irish fighter won by unanimous decision, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, after the bout went the full three rounds.

Bannon will meet compatriot Kerry Ann Vernon in the final at the UNYP Arena after she won by knockout against Jessica Andersson of Sweden in just 32 seconds.

Meanwhile in the senior men's tournaments, Ireland's Taylor Quinn also secured a round-one win against Abdulla Mubarak of Bahrain in the bantamweight class.

Quinn forced his opponent into submission after trapping him into an inescapable armbar.

In the middleweight division, Eoin Sheridan beat Estonian Ergo Reinvald via a technical knockout (TKO) after 2min 12sec of round one.

Kiya O'Sullivan, Sarah Carney and Ryan Keogh also advanced in the junior events to secure a minimum of six silver medals for Ireland.

Athletes from both Ireland and Northern Ireland are competing in a united team in the Czech capital - a first at an IMMAF event.

After receiving a unanimous decision for victory against Anna Gaul of Germany, Nina Back will face Josefine Modig.

Sweden's impressive female showing continued with Millie Eriksson, former junior world silver medallist, who took her first TKO victory since 2018 against Phyllis -Yasemin Leineweber of Germany.

She will face another German in Renana Bruckstein in bout 12 of tomorrow's finals.
