The event marks the first in the IMMAF's World Cup Series, which is designed to increase competition opportunities for mixed martial arts' (MMA) elite amateur athletes.

A total of 184 athletes are set to participate in the event.

The MMA World Cup notably provides a European platform for some nations that were unable to travel to Russia for the European Open Championships because of the coronavirus pandemic, and features large teams from Sweden, Norway, Ireland and Ukraine.

"We are delighted to be able to offer another competition platform to our athletes, as we return to play, and are grateful for the opportunity afforded to us by the Czech Association of MMA and by the Czech National Sports Agency," said IMMAF President Kerrith Brown.

"As well as providing increased opportunities for competition for existing national teams, we hope the series will extend the chance to a wider pool of athletes, further expanding IMMAF's talent pool and its competitiveness."

The event is the IMMAF's final tournament of 2021 in which ranking points can be earned for the World Championships.

The full list of nations to participate in the senior tournament is Bahrain, the Czech hosts, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Jordan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Norway, Greece, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Sweden and Tajikistan. 

Larger teams participating only in the junior tournament include those from Russia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria and Finland.

Fans will be able to watch all four days of the event live on the IMMAF.tv streaming platform.
