Australian Jessica Fox seeks the top spot in the canoe and kayak disciplines in the 2021 International Canoe Federation Slalom World Cup standings when she competes at the La Seu leg this weekend.

Fox, who won bronze in the K1 and gold in the C1 at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, could leave Spain top of the K1 and C1 World Cup standings.

The 27-year-old, who is a seven-time individual world champion, sits second in the C1 standings and top of the K1 standings entering the final leg of the World Cup.

German C1 2019 world champion Andrea Herzog leads Fox by 11 points in the C1 standings, after finishing second in Prague and first in Markkleeberg in Germany, but will not compete in Spain and could well lose her number one position.

In the K1, Fox holds a dominant 20-point lead over Elena Apel, after first and fourth-place finishes.

Ricarda Funk of Germany sits in third, one point behind her team-mate, but will not feature in Spain.

In the men's K1, Slovakia's Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Jakub Grigar leads the way on 102 points after a sixth place in Prague and winning in Markkleeberg.

Grigar is narrowly followed by Giovanni De Gennaro of Italy who finished second and third and has been rewarded for his consistency.

Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Jiří Prskavec of the Czech Republic won in Prague but did not compete in the second World Cup of the year and sits in 12th.

Prskavec will not be present in Spain, either.
