The Czech Republic won 13 medals the last time it staged the event in 2018.

The 2021 IBU 15 kilometre individual world champion Markéta Davidová and two-times 2019 silver medallist of the championships, Lucie Charvátová, will lead the charge for the home team.

Pyeongchang 2018 sprint silver medallist Michal Krčmář is set to provide the star power in the men's competitions.

Approximately 250 athletes from 25 countries are set to compete across four classes - men, women, junior men and junior women.

"We cannot wait for the return of biathlon at the Summer Biathlon World Championships next week and to once again be able to welcome spectators to our events," said Olle Dahlin, IBU President.

"Last season was a great success, but there is no doubt we missed the atmosphere and energy our fans produce.

"We are excited that they will return this season, starting with the Summer World Championships, but we of course need to ensure all the correct protocols are in place to protect them, our athletes, and everyone associated with our events.

"We are working closely with the relevant authorities and Organising Committees to ensure this will be the case so that once again we can enjoy a safe and very successful biathlon season."

It will be the first time in more than a year that fans have been able to attend an IBU event with a capacity crowd of 7,000 people allowed in the Czech town, in line with Government regulations.

The championships will serve as the precursor for the upcoming winter season which is scheduled to begin on November 26.
