Lucerne 2021 has signed-up a number of new partners to back this year's delayed Winter Universiade.

ONE Training Center/Migros Fitnesspark and confectionary company Hug AG have become the latest bronze partners of the student event.

Insurance firm Helvetia, advertising company APG|SGA and railway Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn have all joined as supporting partners.

Swisslos, a lottery company, has become a public partner while Makro Art AG has become the branding production partner.

The latest additions follow Swiss watch manufacturer Tissot being named as a gold partner of Lucerne 2021 in June.

"I am delighted that we have been able to sign more strong partners," said Lucerne 2021 managing director Urs Hunkeler.

"The technical, material and moral support of our partners is a key success factor for the implementation of the Winter Universiade 2021."

Lucerne 2021 is scheduled to take place between December 11 and 21 after COVID-19 caused a move from its planned slot in January.

"We are proud to be a fitness partner to the Winter Universiade," said Thomas Akermann, the managing director of ONE Training Center.

"The athletes and their support teams train at our 17 locations and enjoy the wide range of fitness, group exercise, childcare and wellness facilities we offer."

Werner Hug, the President of the Board of Directors at Hug AG added: "The Hug family is looking forward to seeing the many sports fans and tourists who are set to visit Central Switzerland and the Grisons in December."

Daniel Brunner-Ryhiner, the head of branding at Helvetia, said: "Helvetia is heavily involved in winter sports, so we are very excited to be named as a partner to the Winter Universiade 2021."
