Bridgestone has outlined its support of the Olympic Games here with the world’s largest tire and rubber manufacturer vowing to support safe, smooth and sustainable transport around the host city.

The Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, which has its global headquarters in Tokyo, revealed that approximately 3,000 official vehicles will use Bridgestone tires.

Bridgestone claimed this will help ensure International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently.

This will include cars, competition support vehicles and unique concept vehicles.

Bridgestone added that it will provide a bicycle and maintenance service to support athlete and staff transportation.

The manufacturer said it has also provided seismic isolation technology to support earthquake readiness at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre and Ariake Arena.

Bridgestone said it has supported the installation of a light and highly-durable polybutene piping system currently installed in more than a dozen of Tokyo 2020’s temporary venues and facilities.

The company has sponsored 70 athletes worldwide, who have become Team Bridgestone athlete ambassadors.

US Bridgestone has launched a new Olympic and Paralympic campaign, celebrating what it means to be "Prepared to Perform No Matter What".

America's nine-time Olympics athletics medallist Allyson Felix and triple gold medallist Ryan Murphy star in the campaign.

It also features 17-time Paralympic swimming medallist Jessica Long and Parapan American long jump champion.

Five-time Olympic swimming gold medallist Missy Franklin Johnson, who has since retired from the sport, also features in the campaign.

The athletes are part of Bridgestone's third Games-time activation in North America.

A series of five television adverts, social media content, retail activation, and digital brand form part of the overall campaign.

Six-time Olympic gold medallist Felix, Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Aaron Brown, Bassett and wrestlers Jordan Burroughs and Franklin Johnson feature in their own adverts.
