The African Paralympic Committee (APC) is organising a webinar to discuss how to best leverage the visibility of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

APC President Leonel da Rocha Pinto is among the scheduled speakers, with the event being jointly organised by the APC and African Union Sport Council.

The webinar is titled "The Power of Inclusion: Maximising the visibility of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games" and is due to begin at 10am WAT this Friday (May 7).

Decius Hikabwa Chipande, who heads the African Union Sport Council, and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) chief brand and communications officer Craig Spence are both due to speak.

An athlete panel, featuring Marie Louise Mukangoga, Emmanuel Nii Tettey and Maureen Kaluni, will also join the event.

Mukangoga is President of the Rwanda Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Tettey is a Ghanaian Para powerlifter and Kaluni is billed as a young Paralympic leader from Uganda.

Peter Adjei, secretary general of Ghana's National Paralympic Committee (NPC), and Natasha Linda, an I’mPOSSIBLE educator with Zambia's NPC, complete the list of confirmed speakers.

I'mPOSSIBLE is an education programme developed by the Agitos Foundation, the IPC's development arm.

Twenty-four countries in sub-Saharan Africa will have free-to-air coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, funded by the IPC and UK Aid, in a bid to boost the profile of Para sport in the region.
