Lara Gut-Behrami earned her fourth consecutive super-G win after triumphing at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The Swiss star had already recorded a super-G victory at the German resort this weekend and won yet again with a time of 1min 17.37secs.

Her nearest opponent was Petra Vlhová of Slovakia, who was just 0.24 seconds off the winning pace.

Vlhová might have caught Gut-Behrami, but a mistake mid-race cost her valuable time.

In third was Tamara Tippler of Austria in 1:18.11.

Gut-Behrami's dominance in the super-G means she is firmly in the lead in the discipline standings with 445 points.

Compatriot Corrine Suter is second on 250, while Tippler is third on 240.

With just two more super-G events scheduled for this season, there is only a small chance that Gut-Behrami will not be receiving the crystal globe for the discipline.

Vlhová's second place finish was enough for her to maintain her place at the top of the overall World Cup standings.

She leads on 989 but is closely followed by Gut-Behrami on 947, with Switzerland's Michelle Gisin third on 807.

Skiers will now be preparing for the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy, which is scheduled to run from February 8 to 21.

World Cup action is then set to resume in Val di Fassa in Italy from February 24 to 28.
