The International Fistball Association (IFA) has become the latest member of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP).

IFA President Jörn Verleger has hailed the development, insisting that fair play is "one of the key values in fistball".

The CIFP is a non-profit organisation and has been staging World Fair Play Awards since 1965.

It counts 24 International Federations as ordinary members, including the IFA, while FIFA, World Rugby, United World Wrestling and the International Basketball Federation are founding members.

"We appreciate very much CIFP accepted our membership application," Verleger said.

"We expect the partnership to expand and strengthen our fair play activities.

"We want to actively spread the values of fair play through education and promotion.

"Fair play is not only the behaviour on the fistball pitch, it’s also outside of the court.

"Fair play means clean sport, means respect for opponents, fellow players, referees and fans, means helping others and friendship.

"These values which we live in fistball makes me proud of being President of our great sport."
