Both sides spurned good chances with Libya having their keeper Ahmed Azzaqa, who made a number of saves, to thank for ensuring the spoils were shared.

Action continues tomorrow in Douala, this time at the Stade de la Reunification, with the opening games in Group C.

Holders Morocco will be favourites in their opening match against debutants Togo, while the later game sees Rwanda take on Uganda.

Action at the CHAN is taking place in front of limited crowds with grounds at 25 per cent capacity.

The tournament only features players who compete in domestic African football competitions.
