Friedrich leads the World Cup standings on 2,235 points, with Lochner second on 2,059.

St Moritz also hosted the latest event of the Women's Monobob World Series, with several stars of the sport making their debuts in the series.

United States’ Kaillie Humphries, the two-woman Olympic champion in 2010 and 2014, secured victory in her maiden race.

Humphries achieved a combined time of 2:22.35 from her two runs to triumph ahead of Germany’s Laura Nolte, who was 0.2 back.

Switzerland’s Martina Fontanive placed third, 0.29 behind the winner.
