Five more nations booked their places at the men's World Floorball Championships as European qualification matches continued across the continent today.

Three qualification events took place simultaneously across Europe.

In the one held in Frederikshavn, Sweden and Denmark secured their places at the Championships, to be held in Helsinki, Finland in December after thumping wins in their final group games helped them finish top of their respective groups.

In Group A Sweden beat Slovenia 17-0 while in Group B Denmark beat Great Britain by the same scoreline.

The two nations will be joined at the Championships by the winner of tomorrow’s third place match between Poland and Estonia with the Swedes and the Danes also going head-to-head for overall bragging rights in the qualifying competition.

Poland and Estonia both recorded convincing wins in their final group games to seal their places in what is effectively a Championship qualifier with the Poles beating Ukraine 16-4 in Group A and Estonia overcoming Iceland 13-5.

In the second European qualification event in Slovakia, the hosts and Switzerland both sealed their places in December's Championships today.

Slovakia topped Group D after beating Norway 5-1 while Switzerland topped Group C after thrashing Belgium 26-1.

Meanwhile, the European three qualification event in Liepaja, Latvia concluded today with the top three teams in that event all qualifying for the main Championships.

Both finalists, the Czech Republic and Latvia had already secured their places with the Czechs winning the final match 5-3.

Germany sealed qualification for the Championships today by winning the third place playoff against Spain 8-4.
