The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) visited the Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Kim Sungsoo, to formally introduce the four-member World Taekwondo Peace Corps (TPC).

TPC is in Ghana to generate interest in the GTF-organised School 2 School Taekwondo Campaign (#S2STkdCamp20).

“Thanks for arranging for the TPC to come to Ghana,” Sungsoo said.

“It’s a good chance for you to promote taekwondo in Ghana, for increasing the interest of the sport in Ghana.

“It will also increase the co-operation between the Federation and Korea.”

“I urged the TPC to do their best, give the children a good show for them to join taekwondo.

“If there is any difficulty, let us know through the GTF,” he added.

The TPC also visited the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.

"Welcome and thank you (TPC) for the love you have for Ghana," GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah said.

"I did Taekwondo from age 7-21 and there are so many benefits to it and especially children.

"Unfortunately, many are not aware of it so I am glad this exercise will teach them."

The School to School Taekwondo Campaign is already underway and runs until February 7 in International Schools within the Greater Accra and Central regions.
