The International Parachuting Commission (IPC) has changed its name to the International Skydiving Commission (ISC), it has been announced.

The decision to rebrand the organisation was taken during the last IPC Plenary Meeting and formally approved by the World Air Sports Federation at its General Conference in Lausanne.

This name change modernises and enhances the IPC brand, it is claimed.

The word "parachuting" appeared to exclude indoor activity, the IPC feared.

They also noted that parachuting is now commonly referred to as skydiving around the world.

The IPC incorporates indoor activity in a wind tunnel and the outdoor activity, from an aircraft.

The change also reflects the integration of indoor skydiving into the Commission and reinforces the already existing bond, officials claimed.
