Young talent such as German junior world champion Felix Keisinger will be aiming to impress at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Bobsleigh World Cup in Lake Placid.

The 21-year-old set a track record last week at the World Cup season-opener at the same venue.

He was unable to finish on the men's skeleton podium after a disappointing second run, but will be returning tomorrow to try again.

Youth Olympic champion Evgeniy Rukosuev of Russia is expected to be another contender.

Axel Jungk of Germany, last week's victor, is also back to try and claim another gold.

In the women's skeleton, junior world champion Anna Fernstädtová, competing for the Czech Republic instead of Germany for the first time in the World Cup, will threaten former team mate Jacqueline Lölling for first place.

Competition will also take place in the two-woman, and four-man bobsleigh.

Kaillie Humphries is set to make her second appearance for the United States in the two-woman bobsleigh, having switched allegiances from Canada at the start of the season.

The women and men's skeleton is tomorrow, with the two-woman and the first of the four-man bobsleigh races on Saturday (December 14).

A second four-man bobsleigh event is scheduled for the final day of competition on Sunday (December 15).
