The nine-times Paralympic champion, who had already set new marks in the women’s 50m and 100m freestyle, registered a score of 1,063 points in the women’s 200m individual medley after coming home in 02min 25.22sec, competing in the SM9 category.

Valeria Shabalina of Russia, who had already earned two golds in OCBC Aquatic Centre, added a final silver, registering 1,053 points as an SM14 swimmer after clocking 2:20.14.

On the system of grading in Para swimming, the lower the S number the greater the degree of physical disability.

 Toh Wei Soong, already a gold medallist in his home pool, added a silver in the men’s 50m butterfly.

Toh, an S7 swimmer, earned 896 points after finishing in 32.40sec in the OCBC Aquatics Centre as he followed home China’s gold medallist Jingang Wang, an S6 swimmer, who recorded 988 for a time of 30.88.

S4 swimmer Cameron Leslie of New Zealand won the men’s 50m backstroke with 985 points after clocking 43.22sec, with Vietnam’s Thanh Tung Vo, in the S5 category, taking silver with 916 after recording 39.76.

The women’s 50m backstroke gold went to Turkey’s S5 swimmer Sumeyye Boyaci, who finished with 902 points after clocking 45.88sec, with home athlete Pin Xiu Yip, in the S2 category, taking silver after 1min 05.29sec earned her 859.

Canada’s Tess Routliffe won the women’s 50m butterfly with 854 points after clocking 37.69, just ahead of fellow S7 swimmer Ani Pallan of Russia, who recorded 37.86 for 847 points.

The men’s 200m individual medley title went to Japan’s Keichi Nakajima, in the SM14 category, who earned 938 points for his time of 2min 15.61sec.
