The Kosovo Taekwondo Federation (KTF) has held its first technical coaching course in the capital city of Pristina.

The four-day event, organised in conjunction with the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC) and World Taekwondo through the Olympic Solidarity programme, included theoretical and practical activities.

Education, discipline, techniques and tactics were among the main topics during the course.

It was led by Sun Jang Lee, the gold medallist in the under-50 kilograms category at the 1985 World Championships in Seoul.

According to the KTF, 21 coaches were certified after successfully completing the course.

The four-day course allowed coaches to test techniques while continuing to expand their knowledge of the sport.

KOC President Besim Hasani was among the officials in attendance.

"This is a planned activity for 2017, but since it has not been realised in 2017 this is being accomplished in 2018 and I am very happy that there was extraordinary interest," said Hasani.

"Twenty-one certificates were shared, meaning 21 coaches of this federation are already certified and have learned a lot during these four days."

Sun claimed the course showed how the sport was developing in Kosovo.

The KTF officially became a member of World Taekwondo in 2015.

The governing body had been a provisional member since July 2013.
