The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) has confirmed its World Cup schedule for the 2017-2018 Olympic season.

Eight legs of the campaign will be held, with the first seven providing qualifying opportunities for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in February.

Three North American World Cups will start the season - beginning in Lake Placid in the United States, twice a Winter Olympics host, between November 5 and 10.

The circuit is due to remain in the US and visit Park City in Utah, where action took place at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, between November 13 and 18.

Canada is scheduled to be the next stop with Whistler staging competition between November 20 and 25.

Action will then move to Europe with the first of three German legs taking place in Winterberg between December 4 and 10.

Innsbruck in Austria is then due to play host between December 11 and 17 before Altenberg in Germany takes centre stage between January 1 and 7.

Two-time Swiss Winter Olympic host St Moritz is down to host the final World Cup where Olympic qualification will be at stake, between January 8 and 14.

The season is then scheduled to conclude in Königssee in Germany between January 15 and 21.

Bobsleigh and skeleton action will take place in Pyeongchang between February 15 and 27 at the Alpensia Sliding Center.

To qualify for the Games, athletes must have been ranked in five races on at least three different tracks in the World Cup, North American Cup, Europe Cup or the skeleton-only Intercontinental Cup in the two winters prior to Pyeongchang 2018.

These rankings must include at least three races on two different tracks in the 2017-2018 season.

In addition, the athletes must rank among the top 50 two-man and four-man bobsleigh pilots, the top 40 women’s bobsleigh pilots, the top 60 men's skeleton sliders and the top 45 women’s skeleton athletes before the cut-off date of January 14.
