The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Judo Committee has created a film aimed at promoting the sport among coaches.

It is the first time a video of this type has been shot with the idea the brainchild of Norbert Bíró, chair of the sport's IBSA Committee, and János Tardos, the sports director.

The video was then created by Bíró and Ian John, an education director.

Representatives from six countries were invited to Hungary to appear in the film, which was shot at the Rákosvidéke Judo Club, including experienced coaches, top blind judokas and beginners.

Portugal, Great Britain, Sweden, Russia, Romania and Hungary all took part in the creation of the film with participants set to receive a copy after the premiere.

The video will be shown for the first time along with a presentation at the International Judo Federation (IJF) annual referee and coaches seminar in January next year in Baku.

Around 250 participants are expected in Azerbaijan's capital.

This forum is seen as the "ideal and biggest" place to promote the video among coaches, the potential teachers of blind and visually impaired judokas.

This news comes after IBSA launched the process to find a host for their 2018 World Judo Championships.

The event in two years’ time is among a number of major competitions in the sport which the organisation is seeking hosts for.

The 2018 World Judo Championships are scheduled to be held between September and October and IBSA has called for countries to stage the event.

It comes amid plans from IBSA Judo to prepare the next four year programme in the lead-up to the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
