Nigeria were in dominant form as they thrashed Guinea 100-47 in the only game of the Women's AfroBasket in Cameroon's capital Yaounde today.

The emphatic triumph came despite coach Scott Nnaji resting leading scorer Olayinkna Sanni, with five Nigerians bagging 12 points or more in the success.

Nadia Peruch-Niang led the way for Guinea with 17 points and seven rebounds and her country did get to within 13 points at one stage, before the Nigerians pulled away.

Nigeria have gone third in Group B thanks to the win, with the top four from each of the six team groups advancing to the quarter finals.

The eventual winners of the tournament will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics next summer.

Tomorrow's games will see Guinea back in action against Algeria in Group B, while Nigeria will play Senegal and Angola will meet Egypt.

In Group A, Uganda play South Africa, Mali meet Mozambique and hosts Cameroon play Gabon.
